Dana Snook, RDN, LDN

Dana Snook, RDN, is the co-founder of Beyond Therapy and Nutrition Center. Dana is a registered dietitian who is HAES-aligned and fatpositive. Dana is an eating disorder specialist.

I am a non-diet, weight-neutral nutrition therapist who helps clients feed themselves and their children in a less stressful way so everyone can develop a healthier relationship with food and body.

I serve three different clients – adolescents and adults with eating disorders, those wanting to reject diet culture, and families of children struggling with body image and feeding concerns.

I have been a dietitian for 15 years, although I wasn’t always a non-diet dietitian. I have worked with both pediatrics and adults throughout my entire career. It wasn’t until I took my first pediatric position 10 years ago and stumbled upon Ellyn Satter’s work that I started to piece it all together. I finally learned that a good relationship with food requires TRUST (non-restrictive approach) instead of CONTROL (restrictive approach). This involves not only addressing what you eat, but also how you think and feel about food and your body.

This allows me to see things from a unique perspective. I can understand how a person’s relationship with food and body is impacted by how they were raised with food and body. Having a deeper understanding of how family systems affect your thoughts about food and body can give a deeper understanding to truly healing.

My practice is weight-neutral and shame-free. This means I am neutral about what you eat and will never pathologize your body
