Rachael believes that one's comfort and a strong and safe therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy. Her eclectic approach is always non-judgmental and client-centered. Her clients appreciate the humor that she brings into sessions while also offering compassion. She believes that we all can do hard things, and having the support of a therapist allows people to achieve our their goals and find fulfillment and peace.
Rachael works with adolescents and adults struggling with all eating disorders, in addition to those struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, negative body image, and difficult life transitions/events, including pre and postpartum stressors. Rachael specializes in binge eating disorder and supports clients in exploring intuitive eating. Rachael works from a Health at Every Size ® (HAES) lens and believes everyone deserves peace with food and their body. She is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and strives to show unconditional respect for all clients seeking therapy.
Rachael also has a special interest in working with those in the prenatal and postpartum phase of life, having completed advanced training from the Postpartum Support International and becoming a first time mom in 2020.
Rachael holds a Master’s Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology from Rider University. She completed her graduate training at a local eating disorder treatment facility, working with women who struggle with eating disorders and other mental health issues. Rachael also has experience working in a rehabilitation and detox center throughout graduate school.
