A CLINICIAL CONSULTATION GROUP FOR THERAPISTS  · PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH AND EATING DISORDERS

You love this work.

You're also kind of

overwhelmed by it.

That tracks.

A monthly virtual consultation group for therapists treating eating disorders, body image concerns, and perinatal mental health.

Led by Rachael McLaughlin, LPC, PMH-C, an eating disorder specialist and perinatal mental health certified therapist who has worked with exactly the kind of cases you might just be losing sleep over.

IF WE'RE BEING HONEST

Most of us said yes to these cases before we felt ready.

You took the referral because you wanted to help.

It felt close enough to what you knew. And then your client showed up pregnant, restricting, scared of what her body was doing, with a trauma history and a due date six weeks out. You thought: okay. I'll figure this out.

And you did, mostly.

But you did it alone, at 10pm, with six browser tabs open and a vague sense that you were probably missing something.

Here's the thing we don't talk about enough: eating disorders and perinatal mental health are both genuinely complex on their own.

Together, they're a different clinical animal.

Body image falling apart during pregnancy. An eating disorder that had been quiet for years suddenly very loud postpartum. A client in fertility treatment who has spent a decade at war with her body. The training most of us got does not cover this intersection.

That's not a personal failure. It's just a gap.

This group is about filling it.

WHAT THIS CONSULTATION GROUP FOR THERAPISTS IS

A place to say "I don't know what to do with this case" and actually get somewhere.

Once a month, we'll meet virtually to consult on real cases. Not hypotheticals, not case studies from a textbook. The actual clients sitting across from you who are keeping you up at night.

Some months I'll present a concept and open it up for the group to dig into together. Other times you bring the case and we work through it. Either way, you show up to something real. The goal is to walk away with a clearer head, a stronger sense of direction, and the relief of knowing you are not the only one who found this hard.

I'm in the room every month as the specialist. You and the group bring the rest. Everyone gets sharper.

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

What actually happens when you consult consistently.

01

You stop second-guessing yourself as much.

Reading about something and having actually talked it through with someone who treats it every week are two different things. That difference is real. Your clients feel it.

02

You build a reputation in your niche.

Therapists who consult regularly in a specific area develop genuine expertise over time. Expertise becomes a reputation. A reputation brings you the referrals you actually want to take.

03

You feel less alone in the work.

This specialty is heavy. Having a group of therapists who know exactly what you mean when you say "she's restricting but she insists she's fine" is not a small thing. It's how you stay in this work for the long haul.

04

You show up differently in the therapy room.

More embodied, less in your head. You clients will feel that. And of course, so will you.

WHO THIS IS FOR

You are newer to eating disorder or perinatal work and you want real clinical support, not just another CE course that checks a box.

You have been doing this work for years and you want a focused space to think through the hard cases with someone who specializes in both areas.

You keep getting referrals in this space and you want to feel genuinely confident saying yes instead of just hoping for the best.

You practice from a HAES-aligned, weight-inclusive framework and you are tired of consultation spaces that do not share that lens.

You are currently holding a case where the perinatal stuff and the eating disorder stuff are happening at the same time and you would really love a specialist in the room.

You are just honest enough to admit that doing this alone is not working that well.

ABOUT RACHAEL MCLAUGHLIN

Who's running this and why it matters.

I'm Rachael McLaughlin, LPC, PMH-C. I'm a licensed professional counselor, eating disorder specialist, and perinatal mental health certified therapist.

I co-founded Beyond Therapy and Nutrition Center in Newtown, PA, where my team and I treat eating disorders, ARFID, body image concerns, postpartum anxiety and depression, and the very real mess that happens when all of it shows up at once.

I am HAES-aligned and anti-diet. That means I will not frame weight as a clinical goal, and I will not treat your client's body as the problem. That is not just a value I list on my website. It shapes how I work and how I consult.

I started this group because I kept having conversations with therapists who were sitting with genuinely complex cases and had nowhere to take them. Figuring it out alone is not a clinical strategy. It is just a slower path to burnout.

Come think out loud with me.
